Hey everyone! You may know this, you may not. I have an iPhone, but I also have an iPod touch. If you ask me, it's completely unnecessary. As you can tell, I do not need a new iPod. However, the new iPod nano really has me wishing I did! I normally don't talk about technology stuff since, to be quite honest, I know nothing about it. What I do know is that the new iPod nanos are adorable, and I wish I could justify needing one. I always thought about getting an iPod shuffle because they are small and could clip onto me when I'm working out. (There is a little pouch thing you can get for the iPod touch that wraps around your arm, but it's so bulky I feel like it's not even worth it!) The downside to the shuffle is that it can only hold up to 2GB of songs, and being the music addict that I am, that's just unacceptable.
Insert iPod nano - the best of both worlds! You can opt for either an 8GB ($149.00) or 16GB ($179.00) and it comes in seven different colors. I think we all know which one I would choose... pink! But the best part about the new nano is how small it is, and it even has a clip on the back to clip onto my tank top while I hit the gym. It's also a touch screen, which makes it too good to be true.Like I said, I don't really trust myself to talk about technology stuff, but I saw the commercial for this bad boy and thought it was way too cute to not talk about! I obviously don't need one, but it's still an item I must add to my mental "wish list."
So tell me - would you fork over $149.00-$179.00 for the new nano? If so, which color would you choose?

I would certainly fork over the money for the iPod. It's the cutest little thing ever! And I love it for the same reasons too. And I'd also get it in pink ... Why won't I get i? I already have an iPod, and it's completely fine. So if I didn't have an iPod, I would be going over to the nearest Apple store and picking one up!
i have been wanting a ipod for agessss! and they all seemed too much money butt with the release of this hopefully they will go down in price a bit ;) however if i had the money i would buy this staright away.. so simplistic!
I'm actually debating on whether to get the new ipod nano or the new ipod touch. My ipod died about a month ago, and I really think either or would be a great investment.
I bought the new nano as soon as it came out (in pink!) and I love it! I just clip it to my shirt or bag while I'm walking between classes on campus. I wanted it for its portability, since I still had the classic. The screen is fun and easy to use too.
Overall, I adore it.
I would say no if you already have an iPod touch, but yes the new nano looks so cute!
It's really cute but a little silly. The touch screen is way too small, and touch screens REALLY suck for working out. I don't know about you, but I can't navigate a touch screen that small without looking at it, and I can't stop to look down and change songs during a run. Besides that, the touch screens get all sweaty if you're sweaty when you touch it, AND if they go flying off you at the gym they're much more likely to shatter since they're all screen.
My ipod just broke, and since I use it everyday for working out I had to replace it right away. Between this and the new shuffle I chose the new shuffle. It's much more practical for the gym with the easy to hit buttons and convenient voice over button.

Why don't you sell your iPod touch and use the money to buy a nano!

Blair, I have an old nano, an iPhone4, AND an iPod touch. For work-out and travel purposes, I would TOTALLY buy the new nano. I also cannot have enough apple products. It's like you and makeup- I'm nuts about apple! I can't justify it... it's just the way it is!
I really do want one! but like you i realy cannont justify getting one, i have an ipod touch which i got lst christmas, and ipod nano from like 3 years ago, but it still work well and i could not get rid of it, considering it was limited edtion valentines day pink one and it says amelia's ipod on the back!:p then i also, store alot of musc on blackbery!:P but damn theese badboys are like must haves!!
it wouldn't really hurt to buy it. You could say, it's too cute not to be bought, or it has a touch screen this time or it has really cute colors? I don't know. lol
But if I had the choice to buy one, I'd get the green one just because it's my favorite color. And I'm guessing you're getting the pink one. ;D
I cannot say that I would fork over the money for a new iPod Nano since my old one which is 3rd generation still works fantastic and has the video capability. It also is the 2nd smallest compared to the sixth generation you've blogged about.
If I were to get a new iPod, it would be the iPod touch. Other than this, I am not a big Apple fan. Apple makes lovely, high-quality computers; however, they are way too expensive. That is why 'I am a PC'. I enjoy building computers.
On another note, the Android platform is better for programmers, more capability to develop apps and Android apps are more popular than Apple apps nowadays. Also, the iPhone4 cannot compete with the Samsung Galaxy.
All in all, I would not buy any other Apple product. I stick with open-based platforms, nothing proprietary.

I have an iphone and an ipod touch too, and I still want the new pink nano. so we're on the same boat blair. I spent awhile trying to figure out why I would need it. I can't even use it for exercise cause I do 5 hours of dance a week, but it's not like we can listen to music in class.

I would probably get one except for the fact that I already have an ipod. I have one of the originals(ipod classic i think). It's old and has a crack in the screen but it still plays music. No need to spend more money on another one.
My favourite will always be the classic, even if it is a bit bulky - it's classic!

I had a 2007 nano that broke 3 months ago. since then I was waiting for the new one to come out and couldn't be more happy. it is so cute and small! i'm actually paying about U$ 360 for mine since I live in brazil and that is the price here (YES IT IS REALLY EXPENSIVE, i can't believe how much more it costs here because of all the taxes). So I'm waiting for them to get here wich might happen this week (i'm soo exited) and i'll by the pink one!
The only thing wrong with this is that it could get lost/broken very easily!
Aaaaah, I really hate Iceland sometimes! Over here the 8GB costs the equivalent of $325!!! Completely and utterly over priced! So I won't be getting one :P I still have my Nano 1st gen and it works fine. If I ever go to the US though I know what will be on the top of my shopping list!

I have the iPhone 3GS and just got the iPod nano in orange. I have a 32GB phone so I only got the 8GB iPod so that I could use it to save some battery on my phone and just because it's smaller and easier to take everywhere, especially with the little clip that it has on the back of it. I highly recommend buying one :)
i have the 8GB Ipod touch and i like it but the new ipod nano looks way better because i dropped my ipod and the screen cracked so it would be nice to have one!!!

My boyfriend could choose between the 5th and 6th gen and there wasn't a money issue, still he chose the 5th gen. I agree with him, the touchscreen technology at this level is just way too random. That would be the best word to describe it.
If I had an iPhone I would definiatly not pay the money to get a nano. The only reason I would need it would be for running. If someone got it for me, I'd be happy. But I would not fork out the money.
If I were to get one though, I would get the 149 priced one, in pink.

I don't really like these as much. The screens are way smaller... you can't watch vids/music vids as easily, since its so tiny. I think its cute, but I'm upset its replacing the old iPod nanos. I love my nano 5th gen. :)
if youve got a iphone and an ipod touch there really is no need to waste money because somthing looks cute. they all do the same thing. play music upload photos and videos etc; and you lucky enough to afford an iphone which is even better than a ipod! i wish i could afford an iphone! :(

I have it in pink!! It is absolutely amazing plus I love the radio and sports apps it comes with :) its my baby! If you want a little splurge then I really recommend it - its amazinggg for sports! Xx

The touch screen is nice, but totally impractical, especially if you're working out. I constantly hit the wrong button on my nano now, I couldn't imagine having a touch.
Also, keep in mind of the scrolling. Only 3 songs can be displayed on the screen so if you have to scroll through your music to find a song, it will take ages.
Just keep those things in mind...
So, what is the point of having an Iphone and Ipod Touch? Do you even use your Ipod Touch? That doesn't really make sense to me...
Blair I personally would NOT get one! I know they look all cute because they are small and it's touchscreen and it also features the clip. My brother decided to why not go ahead and get one. First off, to use the clip, you have to be able to push on it at the very edge. It's hard to explain but whenever you want to clip it onto clothes, it becomes more of a hassle than anything else. You can never get it clipped exactly where you want it. The touchscreen feature is very awesome but good luck getting to the specific artist you want! I tried to get it to one artist and it kept jumping on me from the one above it to the one below it. I just couldn't get it! The last thing is the battery. Boy does it drain fast! My brother is someone who will do everything imaginable in order to keep the battery life going for as long as possible without recharging but the battery will only last probably around 5 hours the most (he only uses it during the ride on the subway from his college to the nearby train station at home, which is like 2 hours everyday). My 5th generation iPod Video can probably last as long as this nano and I've had the video for about 4 years now! The iPod does not turn off either. The closest thing you can get it to turning off is putting it in sleep mode which is pressing a button near the volume control buttons are on the device. I'm guessing since you can't exactly turn off the iPod, that is what is causing all the battery drainage. Overall, we were very disappointed with the new iPod Nanos. We wanted to return it to get an iTouch but my brother really cannot afford it at the moment.
I hope this post was useful to someone out there since I know that the chances of Blair reading this are very slim. But thank you to everyone that did read my rant on this iPod.
Well I've never owned anything Apple because it's to expensive & for my birthday 2 weeks ago I asked for an iTouch but my mom couldn't afford it & just got me a cake :) & my dad took me to Forever21 & I chose a shirt & jeans. Because he said that was enough. Personally Blair you don't need it you already have 2 things people are dying for(not literally)but don't you think it's a lil bit too much. Well hat's how I see it. :) But of course it's your choice.
i really think you shouldn't. I have an i touch too, im going sell it on ebay and that but that money towards a Ipod classic, the reason? The iTouch only holds 8gb of music thats only 800 songs! The ipod classic has 160gb thats enough for 40,000 songs!! I have already filled my iphone and itouch with different music and its not worth it in my opinion!!

I don't think the price is worth it. i personally think it is too small to keep up with and the touch screen would be even more difficult. apple is my favorite brand when it comes to any type of electronic but i just don't think that these are that nice looking either and the colors have gotten more dull compared to the past nano's and shuffles

theyll always keep coming out with something better, i think you should keep the ipod touch for a while and when you really can no longer stand it (isnt working as well, is too scratched up, broke, etc) then you should buy the new thing your interested in

However the price no way..I'm all for the $60 juicy cube but not this..I have the other one thats the same things it just doesnt have the screen its only $50 and comes in different colors :) And its small and clips to you..So I will just stick with this one. :)

I have the old old nano and a touch. The nano is the one that is rectangle with a large screen but no camera. I love my iPods!! I really want the new nano but it is almost too small for my taste and I feel like I would lose it easily. I would get it in purple (my current is in orange with a green case and my touch is with a purple case with a flower on it). BTW I feel like having two iPods (they are both 8gs) is not a waste because I use the nano for music and the touch for games, movies and everything else.

I wouldn't. I can't afford an ipod, so I got a Sansa View. It works fine, just like an ipod, and cost $70. Had it for almost a year. Oh, and its 8GB :)

I think I'm the only person to have his opinion, but some iPod users don't like the touch screen. The iPod Classic still has the original interface yes, but most users don't want to buy the Classic because of the excessive price point.
I have held the new nano in my hand and I found it extremely awkward to navigate. I walked in the Apple Store ready to buy the new one (because it DID look so cute!) and immediately changed my mind after testing it out.
I will NOT be buying the new nano, I will be waiting for the next generation.

i would rather invest my money on Ipod touch 4g because i have an ipod shuffle for 4 years now--yes, its very old and its been my best music gadget since. im planning to buy iPod Touch 4g maybe within this month bec. by then, first semester of our school in my country would be done and i could just do whatever i want. and Touch is getting better. my classmates have the old iPod touch and i was able to use it quite some times, yes its nice.. but having a camera on your iPod touch is waaaay better :P
but, you should go buy that iPod Nano or you'll just get jealous over people who have it.

I also have the iphone+touch and when i saw this new ipod i was like OMGHHKP i need to get it!! its like you can listen to your music on the go without having to carry a big chunky and flashy piece of technology. Also its great to workout with. You can just clip it on and voila!
Blair! When I saw these on TV I was freaking out, they're so cheap and hello, they have a touch screen! I have a 32GB iPod Touch I got for Christmas last year, so clearly, I don't exactly need this nano, but, they are super adorable and I would get a pink one if I had the money to blow on something I don't need. :)

But yes i would save up to get the new nano because its really easy to use Because my cousin got one and all you need to do is just click on the music u want to play. Also if you want to save money you could turn in your i-pod to the Apple Store and they will give you a 10% off discount. So just consider it.

no, just no. not worth it! i like the older nano, the one with the radio and camera wayyy better than this one, i would break it or lose it so fast, plus it would be annoying to use my fingers on such a small screen. IMO

The new ipod nano DOESNT HAVE AN OFF BUTTON! My friend got it and had to go into the store to ask because she couldnt find it. They said that it did not have an off button but that it just goes on sleep (which makes the battery life die quicker)...keep that in mind when if you buy one :)

I saved up and bought the 16gb new nano in PINK! :) except I live in australia so it was more expensive, about $220 I think.
I already have an iPod Touch, but it's the 3rd generation (basically not the new one with the camera) and now I really wish I had the new one!!! If my iTouch breaks then I'll probably just buy the new nano, either in blue or red! I love pink, but I'd probably get bored of the colour eventually. I'm British and the nano only costs £129! : )

I also have the first generation iPod touch and the touch screen just FREAKS me out! I get so frustrated when I try to use the wifi on it and try to type things in, it just drives me nuts, I've never had a touch screen phone because of it.
But, with the new iPod Nano, the touch screen seems easier to manage. I'm probably gonna have to stop by an Apple store to play with one a little bit, but I think I would definitely be interested in one because my iPod Touch is just way too much for me, I definitely don't need all those apps and I rarely use my iPod outside of my iHome.
Omg my mom got one and she was like no your not touching it cause it is my new baby so i guess its really good and shes not a music freak but shes all over this so and i have an ipod touch so i think you should be good with your ipod cause this one has apps but the only thing the ipod shuffle has over the ipod touch is RADIO!!

I have the old ipod shuffle which I no longer use ever since I got the ipod video (smaller version of ipod classic) as a birthday gift! Instead I would get iphone cause then you want need an ipod at all!

I do like the iPod Nano, but I just got an iPhone 4 and an iPod Touch, just like you. I also the first generation shuffle, which only holds half a gig of music, which is unacceptable for me, so I NEVER use it. The nano is pretty cute, but almost too small to house a touch screen.

I would fork over the money for the ipod nano if i were you for two reasons
1. Its cute, good for when you work out because it is so small, and...You can get it in pink (that is the colour I would choose)
2. If you bring your Ipod touch to the apple store when you get the nano, you give them your ipod, and the recycle it (good for the environment) and since you did that, they give you ten percent of your new ipod, so it would be a little cheaper than what you were going to spend originally.

IPod touch or iPod nano, whichever it may be, it’s always good and proud to have an iPod. It is very attractive filled with so many features. Even I carry my iPod with me wherever I go, as I am very much addicted to it. Yeah, I would love to have an iPod nano too, the pink color is good.
This is off topic (I really like the new nano too, even more than my ipod touch even though it can do a bit more) but I have a tutorial request.
I really like the look of those ponytails where you wrap the hair around the hair tie but for the life of me can't figure out how to hide the bobby pin when I do it. I also think it would look cute wavy but can't get it to look right.
Any tricks or do you think you could a tutorial on it and some other cute up dos?
Yeah, having iPods are like just amazing. I too have an iPod touch and a iPod shuffle. I carry the shuffle with me where ever I go especially to gym because I just can’t do things without it. I am so very addicted to it. And by seeing the new nano iPod I am already feeling to own one, it is so good. And that pink one is just awesome!

I, personally, would not pay that much for an iPod. I had an iPod, but I didn't have to pay for it. It broke last year. Everyone gets iPods instead of mp3 players because they're cooler. Mp3 players are a much better choice, because they hold the same amount as an iPod, and they're like 10 times cheaper. I have an mp3 player, and it works just fine. *It was only $40*
A few years ago I would have. I actually have the iPod nano that came out right before the one with the video camera built it. Its purple and I loved it (almost to death) but now I mainly just use my iPhone as my music player.
It's really cute, but it can't hold very much music. :\

Blair! I am the person you are looking for! haha! :) I have the new iPhone 4, the new iPod touch... AND the nano in pink. If anybody is going to start yelling at me, then fine, but I pay my own phone bill and my new iPod was an early graduation present. I bought the pink nano cuz I like to go to the gym and my iPod Touch is just too big to lug around and especially since I'm alway setting it on equipment then dropping it. UGH! (Partially why I asked for the new iPod for graduation present) I'm now keeping my new ipod with me in my apartment so I can listen to tunes as I do my homework and my phone to talk/text.. the nano is perfect for the gymn. So what if you have to scroll for a song... I mean, that's why it's called a NANO... it's tiny. DUH. I love it.. if you can afford it, why not buy it? If it makes you happy and you feel that it's the right thing to do.. why do you need someone's opinion on why you should buy it? LOL. Just buy it and be happy. You're the one who's going to enjoy it! :) XOXOXO

I think that this generation of iPod Nano's have some good qualities but I went with the iPod Classic because I have such an abnormally large taste in music that I needed such a large capacity iPod to fit it all. If I was going to get the new iPod Nano, I would get it in either blue and green!!

I think that it would be worth it to fork over as much money as you need, if you think you need it. But, if I were you I would get a nuetral color so you wouldn't have you color clash with the ipod and your workout outfit or whatever outfit you have on at the time. By the way, I love your youtube channel and I have recently become obsessed with makeup so if you have any tips or anything please comment on my blog!

i would, and am planning to get the new ipod nano! i am 15 and until now have lived if you can believe it with out an ipod. i know the shock goes without saying. i can barely believe it myself..the weirdest part being that i have my own MacBook and still no ipod. but for my 15th birthday, a very special uncle of mine gave me an extremely generous apple gift card and amongst other things, i plan to get the new 16GB ipod nano in red, because the product (red) edition donates like 10% (don't quote me) to causes fighting aids in africa! btw, i'm a huge fan, and i don't have a youtube account so i love that fact hat you have a blog- i can finally comment!

How are you doing. I had the iPod nano from 2006-2007 with my name lasered in in the back! I got it from my parents as a birthday gift :)
Unfortunatly a few weeks back I put it in the washing machine while it was in the pocket of my jeans :( I really got sad when I discovered because I thought that I had check in the pockets for items...
anyway I like the ipod but i am not going to get it since I have iphone 4 and it work nicely.

I think you should change your hair colour...you can always change it back if you don't like it. I think the colour on Miley will suit but no matter which colour you get make your hair shiney all the time :) That really suits you!!
